A couple of girls have mentioned they are having trouble understanding all the abbreviations some of us use.  I have put together a list of common ttc chat room acronyms.  I hope it helps. Please let me know if I have missed anything.

AC - Assisted Conception
AF - Aunt Flo (periods)
AFAIK - as far as I know
AI - Assisted or Artificial Insemination
ART - Assisted Reproductive Technolgy
BBL - Be back later
BBT - Basal Body temperature
BCP - Birth control pill
BD - baby dancing (sex)
BFN - big fat negative (pregnancy test)
BF - Breast feeding
BFP - big fat positive (pregnancy test)
B/T - blood test
BTW - by the way
CD - cycle day
CM - cervical mucus
DH, DS, DD, DF, DB - dear husband, dear son, dear daughter, dear fiance, dear boyfriend
DPO - days past ovulation
ED - Egg Donation
EW or EWCM - Egg White or Egg White Cervical Mucus (description of cervical mucus at ovulation time)
FMU - First Morning Urine
FS - Fertility Specialist
FSH - Follicle Stimulating Hormone
FWIW - for what it's worth
FYI - for your information
HB - heartbeat
HPT - home pregnancy test

ICSI - Intracytoplasmic Sperm Insertion

PCOS - Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome

PGD - Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis
POAS - pi$$ on a stick (do a home pregnancy test)
PMSL - pi$$ myself laughing
ROFL - rolling on floor laughing
ROFLMAO - roll on floor laughing my a$$ off
SA - semen analysis
SAHM - stay at home mum
SD - Step Daughter
SO - significant other
SS - Step Son
TBM - Turkey baster method

I haven't started a-gender yet but have heard 'TBM' a few times in posts? I'm assuming it's something to do with sperm collection?? Can you enlighten me :-[

TBM is when your DH produces his sample (either in a condom or in a cup) and the contents are placed in a needleless syringe and then inserted into the female.  I know for ttc a girl that you sometimes need to test the pH of the sample and add lime juice if you need to bring the pH down.

Thanks paisley for that, I thought it was something like that, plus you cleared up the answer to my next Q too.. "what do you do with the sample once you have it" ;D
